Mission Statement
The Mission of the Engineering Division is to effectively manage projects within contracted budget and time constraints, ensuring the coordination, preparation and presentation of contracts, amendments, change orders, work authorizations, and payments while protecting the best interests of Monroe County and its citizens and visitors.

The Engineering Division, through its 3 departments (Engineering, Facilities Development, and Wastewater), is responsive to the needs of our citizens and our unique community by providing a diverse range of engineering services, including construction management, surveying, and inspection of a variety of County projects.  Services also include preparing plans, bid packages, contracts, technical reports, overseeing construction, and investigating complaints for work related to the County roadway system, public buildings, and facilities.   The Engineering Division has also developed and annually updates a Seven Year Roadway and Bike Path Plan, which is utilized to schedule work over the upcoming years, based on the needs of the community.  The Division also reviews and issues right-of-way permits when appropriate.

The staff from ALL the Engineering departments are striving for excellence in meeting the needs of Monroe County and its citizens, and welcome your comments and suggestions.  You may contact any of our employees by email, by clicking on the “Staff” link shown, or by calling one of the department numbers listed.
