STATE ROAD LANE CLOSURES

State Road 5 (US 1)

One northbound lane of U.S. 1 will be closed between Card Sound Road and 344th Street in Florida City Monday, June 22, 2009 through Wednesday July 25, 2009. Work is scheduled for the non-peak hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times and access to businesses will be provided. Please note this schedule is tentative and may change due to bad weather and/or unforeseen circumstances.

The northbound lane from Mile Marker (MM) 106 in Key Largo to MM 126 in Florida City will be closed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from Thursday, June 18, 2009 through 10:00 a.m., Sunday, June 28, 2009. The northbound lane will open with possible lane restrictions and if necessary, close midnight on Sunday June 28, 2009 through July 2, 2009. While the northbound lane is closed, northbound traffic will be diverted to Card Sound Road. Tolls will be lifted for northbound traffic only. Due to repairs on the southbound inside shoulder of U.S. 1, traffic will be shifted around the work area at MM 110 beginning at 9:00 p.m., Wednesday June 24, 2009 through Saturday, June 27, 2009.

SR 5 (U.S. 1/Overseas Hwy) - Grassy Key (MM 57.4 to MM 59.9)

No lane closures are planned; however, travel lanes have been shifted to the north side of the road and narrowed from 12 to 11 feet in some portions within the project limits.  Please exercise caution and obey the reduced 45 MPH speed limit throughout the limits of the project.  Motorists are encouraged to call 511 before they drive or log on to www.fl511.com to get real-time traffic and lane closure information. SR 5 (U.S. 1/Overseas Hwy) - Channel 2 Bridge (MM 72.6 to MM 73.1)

SR 5 (U.S. 1/Overseas Hwy) Bahia Honda Bridge (MM 35.28-MM 36.56)

One lane of a two-lane section will be closed daily on the southbound side of the Bahia Honda Bridge from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This lane closure is necessary to fit equipment on the bridge for repair work being done underneath the Bahia Honda Bridge.  Please obey the speed limit. SR 5 (U.S. 1/Overseas Hwy) – Big Coppitt Key (MM 9.744 to MM 10.887)

There will be one lane closed in Big Coppitt Key between MM 9.744 to MM 10.887 due to paving beginning on Sunday, June 28 through Thursday, July 2. Worked is scheduled between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Flaggers and law enforcement officers will direct motorists through the work zone as necessary. SR 5 (U.S. 1/Overseas Hwy) Key West (MM 5.3 to MM 5.9)

One of the two northbound lanes on Overseas Highway / U.S. 1 / State Road (S.R.) 5 from around MM 5.4 for approximately one-quarter mile will be permanently closed during construction. The lane will be closed by use of concrete barrier wall that is properly outlined with lights for visibility and safety. As part of the constructions crews will be repairing a steep drop-off at the edge of the shoulder and installing boulders to prevent future erosion. As crews complete each quarter-mile segment, the work and lane closure will move forward over the next two and a half months. State Road 5 (US 1/North Roosevelt Boulevard/Overseas Highway)

One northbound lane and one southbound lane on US 1 near Andros Road in Key Largo will be closed nightly, from 9:00 P.M., June 25, 2009 to 3:00 A.M., June 26, 2009.

One northbound lane and one southbound lane on US 1 at mile marker 102.5 is closed Monday through Friday, from 8:00 A.M to 5:00 P.M., through June 30, 2009 and will be closed Monday through Friday, from 8:00 A.M to 5:00 P.M., July 8, 2009 through July 28, 2009.

One northbound lane on US 1 at mile marker 92.5 will be closed daily, from 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M., July 7, 2009 through July 9, 2009. Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority crews will be performing utility work.

One northbound lane on US 1 at approximately mile marker 91 is closed nightly, from 9:00 P.M. to 5:00 A.M., through June 24, 2009.

The lanes on US 1 at mile marker 73 are shifted Monday through Friday, from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., through July 31, 2009. Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority crews are performing utility work.

The lanes on US 1 at approximately mile marker 64 are shifted nightly, from 9:00 P.M. to 5:00 A.M., 2009 through June 25, 2009.

The northbound shoulder at the intersection of US 1 and 121 Street in Marathon is closed Monday through Friday, from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., through July 17, 2009.

One northbound lane and one southbound lane on US 1 from 60 Street to 94 Street in Marathon will be closed Monday through Friday, from 7:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., July 7, 2009 through July 28, 2009 and August 1, 2009 through August 7, 2009.

The northbound shoulder or the southbound shoulder on US 1 from Ships Way to the Key Deer crossing on Big Pike Key is closed Monday through Friday, from 7:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., through July 17, 2009.

The lanes on US 1 at mile marker 20.5 are shifted nightly, from 9:00 P.M. to 5:00 A.M., through June 25, 2009.

The lanes on US 1 from mile marker 15.5 to mile marker 23.6 are shifted Monday through Friday, from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., through July 9, 2009. Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority crews are performing utility work.

The lanes on US 1 at approximately mile marker 14.3 are shifted nightly, from 9:00 P.M. to 5:00 A.M., through June 25, 2009.

One eastbound lane and one westbound lane on US 1 from South Roosevelt Boulevard to Cross Street are closed Monday through Friday, from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., and Sunday through Thursday, from 8:00 P.M. to 7:00 A.M., through October 2, 2009.
