On behalf of Monroe County, Mayor Spehar and Commissioner Nelson, presented Department of Community Affairs (DCA) Secretary Thaddeus Cohen with an Honorary Conch Certificate at the State Cabinet meeting in Tallahassee, September 7th. Secretary Cohen was instrumental in bringing about an Interlocal Agreement between the County and the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority (FKAA). The agreement approved at the recent Cabinet meeting allows land use plan changes, providing more than 100 building permit allocations for affordable housing and promises state funding for wastewater, affordable housing projects and land acquisition. |
