The Monroe County Office of Emergency Management invites citizens, residents and business interests to attend a public meeting to review and comment on the draft Revised Local Mitigation Strategy on July 19, 2005, at 3:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Board of County Commissions room at the Marathon Government Center, 2798 Overseas Highway, Mile Marker # 50, Marathon, FL.
The Office of Emergency Management is leading a multi-jurisdictional effort to revise and update the Local Mitigation Strategy which includes Monroe County and the cities of Key West, Key Colony Beach, Layton, Marathon, and Islamorada. The result will be a plan of action to continue to address the long-term impacts of all hazards, both natural and manmade, to which both incorporated and unincorporated Monroe County are vulnerable.
