Lane Closure & Parking Restrictions On Flagler Ave.
The Florida Department of Transportation has announced that there will be intermittent lane closures on Flagler Ave between Bertha St and South Roosevelt Blvd, while workers mill and resurface the road in this area. One lane will be closed in either direction during non-peak daytime hours (9 AM – 4 PM) continuing through Wednesday, November 23. One lane in each direction will be maintained at all times. Travel lanes will re-open after 4:00 PM daily, and will remain open from 4:00 PM Friday until 9:00 AM the following Monday.
This work will also require closing the parking lanes on Flagler Avenue temporarily while workers mill and resurface this area. Parking restrictions are scheduled for the South (eastbound) side of Flagler through October 5, starting from Bertha St. to Roosevelt Blvd.
Parking will be available on the opposite side of the street while these areas are closed. Any car parked within the restricted areas will be towed at the owner’s expense.
Please note that this schedule is tentative and could be impacted by bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Steve Gilbert, Senior Project Engineer of the Flagler Avenue project stated that, “citizens should be aware that there is still a lot of work to complete along Flagler Avenue that will result in parking restrictions, lane closures, and work at the corners and intersections. Variable message boards at both ends of the jobsite will be used to help notify citizens of upcoming lane restrictions and roadwork. The patience and cooperation of all that travel on Flagler Avenue is appreciated.”
For additional project information, questions or concerns, please contact Steve Gilbert at 305-345-7446 or the Public Involvement Office at 305-360-0936.
