FDOT Road Closures 8-23-05
STATE ROAD LANE CLOSURES

Miami-Dade and Monroe counties

State Road 5 (US 1)
U.S. 1 “The Stretch” Reconstruction Project A speed enforcement program begins Monday, Aug. 29. Double fines for speeding are in effect when workers are present.

Watch for shoulder work and truck traffic north of the Jewfish Creek Bridge during both day and nighttime hours. A temporary traffic signal has been installed north of the Jewfish Creek Bridge at Mile Marker 108.3 to stop northbound traffic when necessary. The signal is operational from 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.

For more information, contact Patti Jones, Public Information Officer, at 305.481.1186.

One lane will be closed nightly (9 PM to 5 AM) at MM 63 over the next week while workers install underground wiring at this location. During this closure, north and southbound traffic will use the remaining travel lane alternately and flagmen will direct traffic through the area. This work is being performed in conjunction with the ITS Project, currently underway along US 1 in Monroe County. Motorists should anticipate delays traveling through this area. Please note that bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances might impact this schedule.

For more information, please contact Tish Burgher at (305) 499-2391.

The lanes on the Channel Five Bridge (mile marker 71) will continue to be shifted weekdays, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, through September 30, 2005.
Crews are performing repairs to the bridge substructure.

The lanes on US 1 at mile marker 65 and mile 26 will continue to be shifted sequentially weekdays, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, through September 3, 2005.

The lanes on US 1 at mile marker 27 will be shifted from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, August 24, 2005. BellSouth crews will be performing utility work.

One northbound lane or one southbound lane on US 1 at mile markers 20.2, 28.8, 29.6, 33.5, 39.1, and 60.5 will continue to be closed sequentially, from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, through October 31, 2005. A flagging crew will be on site to direct traffic. Crews are repairing bridge joints.
