STATE ROAD LANE CLOSURES
Miami-Dade/Monroe counties
State Road 5 (Overseas Highway/US 1)
The southbound travel lane will be closed in the vicinity of MM 113 between 9 AM and 3 PM on
Wednesday, June 29th while workers make minor adjustments to a new Dynamic Message Sign
(DMS) recently installed at this location. While the southbound lane is closed, northbound and
southbound traffic will use the northbound lane alternately. Flag men will direct traffic through the
area. Motorists might experience delays of up to 10 minutes when traveling through this area.
Motorists can use Card Sound Road as an alternate route, but must pay the standard toll.

U.S. 1 “The Stretch” Reconstruction Project
Watch for shoulder work and trucks entering and leaving the highway north of the Jewfish Creek
Bridge during both day- and nighttime hours. Crews will not work on the July 4 holiday.

The lanes on the Overseas Highway at Lignumvitae Channel (mile marker 77.5) will continue to
be shifted from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, June 29, 2005. Crews are repairing or replacing the bridge
joint.
The lanes on the Channel Five Bridge (mile marker 71) will continue to be shifted weekdays,
from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, through June 30, 2005. Crews are performing repairs to the bridge
substructure.
The northbound lane on the Overseas Highway at Spanish Harbor Channel (mile marker 33.5)
will continue to be shifted daily, from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM, through June 30, 2005. Crews are
performing utility work.
The southbound lane on the Overseas Highway over Boca Chica Channel (mile marker 6.5) will
be shifted from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, June 29, 2005. Crews will be performing a bridge inspection.
