State Road Lane Closures - 03-29-07

"Wearing a safety belt is the single most effective way to protect people and reduce fatalities in motor vehicle crashes."

Monroe County

Please note that these schedules are tentative and could be impacted by bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

U.S. 1 “The Stretch” Traffic Update
The northbound lane of U.S. 1 will be closed between Mile Marker (MM)
106 and MM 108 from 8 p.m.-5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3 and Thursday, April 5. These lane closures are necessary so crews can work on the Jewfish Creek Bridge.
While one lane of U.S. 1 is closed, northbound and southbound traffic will use the other lane alternately, and a flagger will direct traffic through the work zone. Motorists might experience delays of up to 10 minutes during the closures, and can use Card Sound Road as an alternate route, but must pay the standard toll.
Watch for truck traffic and shoulder work throughout the construction zone. The speed limit is 35 mph from MM 106 to MM 108 and 45 mph from approximately Mile Marker (MM) 108 to MM 116.
For more information, please contact Patti Jones, public information officer, at (305) 481-1186.

South Roosevelt Blvd. (SR A1A) (MM .78 - MM 2.4) Lane closures on South Roosevelt Boulevard between Smather’s Beach and the Riviera Canal near US 1, Mile Marker .78 to Mile Marker 2.4, will continue through May 31, 2007.  One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction throughout the project.  To make drainage improvements in the area, the contractor has extended the lane closure along South Roosevelt Boulevard from the Riviera Canal Bridge up to the intersection of US-1.
Traffic has been reduced to one lane in each direction.  Motorists should allow extra time when transiting the area, and use caution due to the changed lane configuration.  For more information call 305-292-2156 or 305-797-0962; or on the web, go to www.fdotmonroe.com.

State Road 5 (Overseas Highway/US 1)
One northbound lane on US 1 from mile marker 100 to mile marker 103 is closed at various locations sequentially weekdays, from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, through June 29, 2007.

One northbound lane and one southbound lane on US 1 at mile marker 86 are closed weekdays, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, through March 30, 2007.

The northbound lane or the southbound lane on US 1 from mile marker 57.400 to mile marker 59.900 will be closed at various locations sequentially for one day, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, between March 26, 2007 and April 20, 2007. A flagging crew will be on site to direct traffic.
