STATE ROAD LANE CLOSURES

Miami-Dade County

State Road 5 (U.S. 1) between Card Sound Road and 344th Street in Florida City

One northbound lane of U.S. 1 will be closed between Card Sound Road and 344th Street in Florida City, Monday, September 28, 2009 through Friday, October 2, 2009.  Work is scheduled for the non-peak daytime hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and non-peak nighttime hours of 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Monday through Thursday .One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times and access to businesses will be provided. Please note this schedule is tentative and may change due to bad weather and/or unforeseen circumstances.

SR 5 (U.S. 1/Overseas Hwy) - Channel 2 Bridge (MM 72.6 to MM 73.1)

Lane shifts will occur on Channel 2 Bridge from MM 72.6 to MM73.1 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday in order to allow for construction activities on the bridge.  Please exercise caution and obey the reduced 35 MPH speed limit throughout the limits of the project.  Motorists are encouraged to call 511 before they drive or log on to www.fl511.com to get real-time traffic and lane closure information. SR 5 (U.S. 1/Overseas Hwy) - Grassy Key (MM 57.4 to MM 59.9)

No lane closures are planned; however, travel lanes have been shifted to the north side of the road and narrowed from 12 to 11 feet in some portions within the project limits from MM 57.4 to MM 59.9.  Please exercise caution and obey the reduced 45 MPH speed limit throughout the limits of the project.  Motorists are encouraged to call 511 before they drive or log on to www.fl511.com to get real-time traffic and lane closure information. SR 5 (U.S. 1/Overseas Hwy) Bahia Honda Bridge (MM 35.28-MM 36.56)

One lane of a two-lane section will be closed during the day Tuesday through Friday on the southbound side of the Bahia Honda Bridge from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This lane closure is necessary to fit equipment on the bridge for repair work being done underneath the Bahia Honda Bridge.  Please obey the speed limit. SR 5 (U.S. 1/Overseas Hwy) Key West (MM 5.3 to MM 5.9)

One of the two northbound lanes on SR5/ U.S 1/ Overseas Highway from around MM 5.4 for approximately one-quarter mile will be permanently closed during construction. The lane will be closed by use of concrete barrier wall that is properly outlined with lights for visibility and safety. As part of the construction, crews will be repairing a steep drop-off at the edge of the shoulder and installing boulders to prevent future erosion. As crews complete each quarter-mile segment, the work and lane closure will move forward over the next two and a half months. State Road 5 (U.S. 1/North Roosevelt Boulevard/Overseas Highway)

One northbound lane and one southbound lane on U.S. 1 from mile marker 103.5 to mile marker 106 are closed Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., through October 30, 2009.

The southbound lanes on U.S. 1 from mile marker 38 to mile marker 40 are shifted Monday through Friday, from 8:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., through October 15, 2009. The Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority is performing pipeline maintenance.

The northbound lanes on U.S. 1 at mile marker 33.5 (Spanish Harbor Channel) will be shifted from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., September 30, 2009.
