Senior Lunchtime Concert Series March 2008

March will be full of lions roaring out their great tunes.  With this month’s line-up there should not be lamb among them.  Be sure to be “Wearin’ the Green” in Key West and Marathon on the 17th, in Plantation Key on the 19th, and at Bayshore Manor on the 20th when the “Senior Lunchtime Concert Series” celebrates St. Patrick’s Day.  The wonderful performers scheduled for March include female sensations, Melody Cooper and Libby York and male favorites Dave Feder, Mike Emerson, Tommy Tunes, Bob Widener, and Gary Chase. In addition to Irish ditties, audiences will be treated to romantic, jazzy, nostalgic, educational, and traditional music.  Now that the Big Pine and Marathon Nutrition Sites are temporarily combined, there will be three exciting performances in Marathon this March.  This will certainly not be a lackluster month.  So plan to participate and have a great time.  Mike Emerson will break hearts at the Big Pine Site with his special style. Keys visitors and residents over 55 should take advantage of the fabulous free concerts.  “Faith and begorah ‘tis true.”  Please call the Nutrition Sites for information. *

Friday, March 14, 2008 Visit with and join Mike Emerson and his guitar as he performs smooth tunes and most anything you desire to hear.  Mike aims to please and has never let us down. There isn’t a still foot in the house when Mike plays. Mark the date and please bring your friends. This great concert is free to older adults over 55.
11:30 a.m.

Monday, March 17, 2008 Melody Cooper will appear at the Key West Nutrition Site/Senior Center to thrill us with songs for St. Patrick’s Day.  If we are lucky, like the Irish say, she may bring a friend. Melody’s repertoire is so extensive she can sing whatever the audience wants so bring your special requests.  When Melody changes the Senior Center into her own personal “entertainment lounge” everyone is relaxed and has lots of fun.  We encourage all older adults in the Key West area to enjoy the free entertainment. 11:30 a.m.

Wednesday, March 26, 2008 The luck of the Irish is still smiling on us as Libby York returns to the Key West Site.  Only two more months to go and Libby York returns to the North.  We are very lucky to have her perform again in March with her friend Gordy Michael on the keyboard.  Libby is releasing a new CD and if you ask nicely maybe she will sing some of her numbers from the recording.  Bring your friends to this “sell-out” performance. Anyone over 55 can enjoy this concert free of charge.

Friday, March 28, 2008 Marathon’s favorite son, Tommy Tunes returns with his guitar to “whoop it up” for the Marathon and Big Pine program participants and guests.  Tommy sings everyone from Elvis to Johnny Cash and is pleased to take special requests.  Try him with some John Denver if you like.  Tommy aims to please.  This will be a great experience in the Marathon area.  Guests and visitors please attend this free concert.  We’ll see you there. 11:30 a.m.
