What are the Ways that The Grants Acquisition Office Can Help My Organization?

The Grants Acquisition Office is able to assist your Monroe County-based not-for-profit agency or community organization in many ways, including:
        
•  Providing Research Assistance

•  Identifying Funding Opportunities From:
        
Federal, State & Local Government Organizations
        Private Foundations
        Corporate Giving Programs

•  Making Initial Contact With Funding Source

•  Obtaining Application Kits and Forms

•  Aiding With Proposal Preparation Through:

        Organizational Meetings
        Technical Assistance
        Team Building/Collaboration Efforts
        Statistical Information
        Application Review and Editing

In order to expedite my funding search and application efforts through the Grants Acquisition Office, will I be required to provide anything for the process?

Yes, certain information will be requested from you at your first meeting with Grants Acquisition staff, including:

1. Your agency's Mission Statement, Goals & Objectives
2. Information regarding how grant funds will fit into your agency's overall Strategic Plan
3. Information regarding previous grant activity
4. A prioritized list of specific and un-met funding needs

          Once the application process has begun, additional help from you will be required.   
You will be asked to provide:               

1. A contact person from your agency assigned to prepare your project narrative. (This person must be well acquainted with the project for which you are applying)
2. Staff support and cooperation in meeting the grant deadline
3. Official authorization to apply for the funds from your governing body
4. A project budget, including information about matching funds






What is Grants Acquisition Unable To Do?

As much as we would like to  be able to  just “hand you a check”, that is not possible. There are things that the Monroe County  Grants Acquisition Office cannot do.   We cannot:

•  Design your project plan or  develop your budget
•  Assist with any grant application to be submitted to Monroe County for possible County funding (such as Human Service Advisory Board funding)
•  Acquire the authorization to apply from your governing body
•  Lobby for your project with the funding source
•  Provide direct funding for your  project





Can the Monroe County Grants Acquisition Office Help Me?

Services are intended  STRICTLY for governmental, community and  non-profit organizations operating in Monroe County.  
We DO NOT help individuals obtain money for business, education or  personal purposes.
