STATE ROAD LANE CLOSURES

Miami-Dade County

U.S. 1 (S.R. 5) between Card Sound Road and 344th Street in Florida City

One northbound lane of U.S. 1 will be closed between Card Sound Road and SW 344th Street in Florida City, Tuesday October 20, 2009 through Friday morning, October 23, 2009.  Work is scheduled for the non-peak nighttime hours of 12:00 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times and access to businesses will be provided. Please note this schedule is tentative and may change due to bad weather and/or unforeseen circumstances.

U.S. 1 (S.R. 5) - Mile Markers 121.5 to 124.75

The northbound lane of U.S. 1 will be closed from Mile Marker (MM) 121.5 to MM 124.75 from 12:00 a.m. to 5:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 20, 2009 through Friday morning, October 23, 2009. While the northbound lane is closed, southbound and northbound traffic will use the southbound lane alternately, and a flagger will direct traffic through the work zone.

U.S. 1 (S.R. 5) - Mile Markers 116 to 121.5

A lane shift is scheduled for the north and southbound lanes of U.S.1 from MM 116 (the C-111 Canal) northbound to MM 121.5, Monday November 2, 2009 from 9:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. After the shift is complete, both lanes of traffic will be on the completed portion of the new C-111 Canal Bridge and five miles of new asphalt roadway north the bridge.

SR 5 (U.S. 1/Overseas Hwy) - Channel 2 Bridge (MM 72.6 to MM 73.1)

Lane shifts will occur on Channel 2 Bridge hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday in order to allow for construction activities on the bridge.  Please exercise caution and obey the reduced 35 MPH speed limit throughout the limits of the project.  Motorists are encouraged to call 511 before they drive or log on to www.fl511.com to get real-time traffic and lane closure information. SR 5 (U.S. 1/Overseas Hwy) - Grassy Key (MM 57.4 to MM 59.9)

No lane closures are planned; however, travel lanes have been shifted to the north side of the road and narrowed from 12 to 11 feet in some portions within the project limits from MM 57.4 to MM 59.9.  Please exercise caution and obey the reduced 45 MPH speed limit throughout the limits of the project.  Motorists are encouraged to call 511 before they drive or log on to www.fl511.com to get real-time traffic and lane closure information. SR 5 (U.S. 1/Overseas Hwy) Bahia Honda Bridge (MM 35.28-MM 36.56)

One lane of a two-lane section will be closed during the day Tuesday-Friday on the southbound side of the Bahia Honda Bridge between MM 35.28 and MM 36.56 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This lane closure is necessary to fit equipment on the bridge for repair work being done underneath the Bahia Honda Bridge.  Please obey the speed limit. West Summerland Key at MM 34 and on Little Duck Key at MM 40

During the re-construction project, the boat ramps and parking areas at Summerland Key, MM 34, and Little Duck Key, MM 40, will be closed. This project should in no way impact traffic on Overseas Highway / U.S. 1 / State Road (S.R.) 5. Work will mainly be concentrated in the area directly adjacent to the ramps. State Road 5 (U.S. 1/North Roosevelt Boulevard/Overseas Highway)

One southbound lane on U.S. 1 from mile marker 110 to mile marker 112 is closed Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., through November 20, 2009.

One northbound lane and one southbound lane on U.S. 1 from mile marker 103.5 to mile marker 106 are closed Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., through October 30, 2009.

One northbound lane and one southbound lane on U.S. 1 from mile marker 47.5 to mile marker 49.2 are closed Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., through December 4, 2009.
