The Public Safety Division oversees the operations of the departments that are responsible for assuring the planning, preparedness and coordination of response to events which threaten the health and safety of life and property during natural and man-made emergencies in Monroe County.

MISSION STATEMENT
The Public Safety Division strives to be a leader in the provision of Airport, Solid Waste and Telecommunications services to and for the residents and visitors of Monroe County by continually exploring new and innovative ways to increase efficiency and effectiveness to improve productivity while containing costs, and in the management of emergencies by improving the County's emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation capabilities through enhanced coordination with Fire Rescue and Sheriff and long-term planning.
